A carer peered at photo of me pre illness and said, ‘that’s not you is it?’ Don’t ya just love that?

Illness like mine is a bitch and I remain, even after years, very sensitive about the physical effects of the drugs I have to take and being in a wheelchair. As a consequence, where I once loved to shop for clothes (let’s not get into shoes, too painful) …now, I hate it!

But, I miss it. Especially at this time of the year – the new season collections are coming in now, the fashion mags are all showcasing autumn and winter. OK, OK, I know you guys are all still obsessing over crappy summer and thinking about holidays, sun, sea and sand but I hate the heat, the kids on holiday and I love new clothes. It could be worse, I am so not into Christmas yet - get me outta those Christmas departments with tannoy carols in August - please, no!

Pre WC (wheelchair!), I would be slouching around air-conditioned stores, selecting a few fab top-up items for my wardrobe. Sigh! How life has changed. Now, I do it on the internet. And, I love that too! I thought I would share a few of my goodies. You should note that:

• I don’t really do cheap or chainstore – too old, too snobbish, dahling! And, I ship from the States on occasion.
• Style is an individual thing – I love bubbles in champagne, you may not
• Size is tricky – trial and error the only remedy.
• I have no special clothing needs. I buy ‘normal’ clothes that I like even though it is a damn site harder than it used to be.
