I am having such a bad run on arts event in March ... I am starting to doubt that my - usually reliable - arts antennae are functioning at all! Verdis requiem – Royal Opera House Burnt by the Sun - The National Dido, Queen of Cartage – The National Sky Movies - Boy in the Striped Pajamas DVD’s - The Duchess: Brideshead revisited: The Hunger: Elegy Ok, not cutting edge but you would think some of these might be quite good, no? The Requiem - mediocre, Burnt By The Sun – mediocre, Chekhovian adaptation of a film script ... I think I hate Chekhovian, Marlowe's Dido - hated it. We left at the interval. It was such a pedestrian production, even the actors seemed under-whelmed! Boy in the Striped PJ’s - mediocre The DVD’s were all mediocre rubbish except for… Hunger – total s**te everywhere ... up the walls, on the floors, in the beds, on the toilet, caked hands, clogged hair! Everywhere! I surrender, I give up, thank goodnes March is over. Welcome, April. I feel so done with s**te but is s**te is done with me? |
