Don’t leave me this way Julia Fox Garrison You both cry for a long time. Time hurts now. The house is the same but everything else is different. Time is different…and you want your life back. “I never wanted to be so dependent. I don’t want to make taking care of me your whole life. I’m so sorry…” Finally it stops. Everything stops… Even silence is different now. This is it. Home.
I know, I know, yawn, another ‘this is what happened to me’ book. I find a lot of these irritating – ‘and then I triumphed/beat/overcame/miraculous...' – oh, give me a break! But...this woman is funny, unflinching, gutsy and honest. She doesn’t make a miraculous recovery. Like so many of us, she lives life with the effects of illness, adjusting her ‘normal’ view of life to incorporate a more panoramic spectrum . I could relate and maybe you can too...
